The Municipality of Tivat has announced a national competition for the conceptual architectural and urban planning design of a local public interest facility – the market and necessary infrastructure in Tivat.
Subject of the competition:
The competition aims to select the best conceptual architectural and urban planning design for the local public interest facility – the market and necessary infrastructure in Tivat, located on parts of cadastral parcels nos. 2286/1, 2286/4, 2282 KO Tivat, and cadastral parcels 2286/3, 2292, 2285/1, 2295/2, 2293/1 to 2293/22 KO Tivat, within the scope of the Detailed Urban Plan “Tivat-Center” (Official Gazette of Montenegro – municipal regulations no. 21/18).
The location for the planned construction of the city market and accompanying infrastructure covers an area of approximately 3,885 m².
The goal of this competition is to obtain a functional and distinctive conceptual architectural and urban planning design, which will serve as the basis for the preparation of project-technical documentation for the implementation of this project.
Competition Deadlines:
• Submission deadline: Monday, March 31, 2025, by 12:00 PM.

The competition organizer will announce the results on the official website of the Municipality of Tivat (www.opstinativat.me) and the competition’s website (www.architecturalcompetitions.me) after the jury’s decision and the submission of the jury report.

Eligibility:
The competition is open to all legal and natural persons who meet the conditions defined by the Competition Announcement and Competition Program.
Participants must have residence or headquarters in Montenegro. At least one author of the submission (individual or team leader) must be a licensed architect. Authors may include professionals from other disciplines to enhance their submission (e.g., a landscape architect and a civil traffic engineer are desirable team members).
Registration:
Registration is not required, and participation in the competition is free of charge.
Deadline for Questions:
All participants may submit questions regarding the competition until Monday, January 20, 2025. Answers to all submitted questions will be published on the competition’s websites by Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
